32nd Annual Babson Lecture
Gwendolyn DuBois Shaw, art historian, curator, and Associate Professor of History of Art at the University of Pennsylvania will join Brittney Cooper, Rutgers University Associate Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and Africana Studies to discuss the art of leading contemporary artist Kara Walker. Walker is best known for her innovative use of the silhouette form. Walker explores issues of race, gender, sexuality, and violence in American history and contemporary culture.
MAM galleries will be open late until 7 p.m. Reception with guest speakers to follow program. Educators earn 2 hours of PD.
