Home School Day
This month's theme is "Community Shapes Our Lives"
This month let us consider our positive stories told by our family and community. Looking at the social, cultural, and political phenomena shaping our contemporary lives, we will use printmaking and transfer techniques, exploring current events in the news and use the newspaper as a material in our artwork and explore artists who are using news and family stories in their works.
We will tour Constructing Identity in America (1766–2017) exhibition and address characteristics that contribute to one’s sense of self, including civic, cultural, artistic, religious, professional, and sociopolitical identities, sense of place and personal space, and non-conformity.
3rd Thursday of the month, September through June
Home School families are invited for a fun and educational afternoon, which includes a gallery tour and studio art project. New themes and projects each month. Children are divided into two age groups: 4–10 and 11+.
