Children of all abilities can explore artistic materials, make friends, and enjoy being creative together in this inclusive program. This month's program will feature Faith Ringgold’s piece Ancestors II and the New Directions in Fiber Art exhibition. Participants will visit MAM's galleries and focus on Ringgold's quilt, then a creative art project will explore the sensory properties of fabrics and encourage children to make their own drawing of friends and families surrounded by a fabric border. A librarian will lead storytime with books related the theme of quilting.
This program is led by an art educator and an occupational therapist and is designed for preschool and early elementary children. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or for more information.
