May’s program is inspired by fiber collages in the MAM exhibition New Directions in Fiber Art. Using fabric strips, ribbon and yarn, participants will create a woven collage. Children will practice fine motor skills through cutting, threading, and tying fabric with sensory exploration of a variety of textures. Gross motor skills targeted include bilateral coordination, crossing midline, and core strength in vertical work. A librarian from Montclair Public Library will lead story time with books using collage imagery.
