Children of all abilities can explore artistic materials, make friends, and enjoy being creative together in this inclusive program for children of all strengths and abilities. Activities include sensory exploration, art-making, creative movement, story time, and gallery tours. Led by an art educator and occupational therapist, this new program is designed for early learners, but all ages are welcome.
November’s program explores the theme of home, as inspired by Beverly Buchanan’s works in the exhibition Constructing Identity in America. Children will create their own sculptural homes with wood and paint while exploring the sensory properties of materials and strengthening fine motor skills through stacking and construction.
A librarian from Montclair Public Library will lead story time with books drawing on the theme of houses and homes.
This program is led by an art educator and an occupational therapist and is designed for preschool and early elementary children, but all ages are welcome. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or for more information.
